Alfred Gray

Those of us who spend time in newspaper trawling can attest to the condition that few facts or details behind or leading up to the detention of Alfred Gray in Tunis at the beginning of 1889 seem to appear...and little more than the fact he was detained is present in the newspapers we examine.

This one is a little different....in fact, it has the most on Gray that I have personally seen in the time I've been trawling.

Note the tattoos of the two women's names....

Thanks for that.
The majority of the papers I had been looking through seldom mentioned anything other than a man being pinched in Tunis and being a suspect in the Case. I know there are some which discuss the arrest a little more elaborately, but the ones I'd been looking at were superficial accounts.
