Early this year I posted a request for info on Casebook
http://forum.casebook.org/showthread.php?t=4446
but only got a little feedback and just wondered if anyone on here knew anything
I found a book review in the Illustrated London News of 27 June 1931. The book in question was entitled Guilty Or Nor Guilty and was written by Guy Russell.
This extract in the ILN gives basic details:
BOOKS OF THE DAY
"GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY? Stories of Fifty Sensational Crimes in Many Countries"
by Guy Russell. With 16 illustrations. (Hutchinson, 12s 6d)
One chapter discusses the identity of Jack the Ripper, whose exploits were recently eclipsed in Germany.

I found out the following with a little further research:
"Guy Russell" was a pen name and the book was written by William de Redman Greenwood (born 1858)
One reply on Casebook from Grave Maurice pointed out that at that time (April 2010) there were copies listed for sale on the website of both Cliiford Elmer and Loretta Lay.
What intrigued me was that when I looked on the Clifford Elmer site, details of the book including the following information:
Includes fifty illustrations, including Miller's Court - scene of the last Ripper murder.
Does anyone have this book and if so could they please tell me what this 1931 illustration of Millers Court was? Was it a drawing or a photo?
Any help gratefully received as this has puzzled me for a long time

Hi Chris

I would think it's definitely a known picture but it would still be of interest to see which picture was used

Stewart Evans is the obvious person to answer your question

Stewart did start a thread about the window pictures on Casebook, I can't remember if he related the history of the photograph - I think his history was more about the pictures of the body

My memory is really bad - sorry
