Thank you very much Tim. I think that this assesment on the Ripper diary is the most comprehensive and intelligent I have seen so far.

You're welcome, Maria. That IS saying a lot, considering the millions of words that have been written about the thing since 1993. One thing is for sure - this surely wasn't written by Shirley Harrison. ;)
