Thanks John...glad someone noticed it.

Yeah...I just spent two and 1/2 hours trying to find more articles or even this same one in another paper...with photos.

I'll try later on...

Hang on John....

Let me go check the date of "Blackest London"...because there were some photos...of Crossinghams and the fellow mentioned in this article.

Don't go away...hold that beer steady and I'll be back.

Oh yeah! I remember now the article and drawings- I wasn't sharp enough to make the connection. Thanks again How. There's got to be a treasure chest full of scattered photos waiting to be found out there...most probably some already found and squirrelled away waiting for the proper time and vehicle to expose them. Something we can probably look forward to.

If the archives of some of these newspapers still exist, and some were lodged in libraries, then they might be fruitful places to find lots of such material. The first task would be to track down the archives...

Oh, and the transcript placed on the boards by Chris Scott is signed by Curtis Brown, who I assume to be Albert Curtis Brown (1866-1945), the American journalist relocated from New York to London in 1888 to head the International Publishing Bureau and who founded a now world-famous literary agency which still bears his name. If they were one and the same, I would assume that his archives still exist (albeit that they may not contain his early journalistic work).

John...

Here's a photograph of Albert Curtis Brown.
I haven't been able to locate any accessible material of his yet.
