I found this record of passengers 1850-1934 from Cuxhaven in Germany to Southampton etc. It won't let me see the year or month unless I take out a subscription.
I don't speak any German so I cannot see if they do pay-per-view.

I'll look it up when I can, if you wish. It'll have to be very late tonight, as I'm busy with something else all day today.

Debra I cannot thank you enough! Your kind response has told me this is not him, becasue of the year 1910 (I needed 1887) and saved me wasting about 30 euros to find that out. Thank you so much!
Curious that he was born around the same time and has such a similar name, AND sailed to England....

Thank you so much Debs for looking it up and saving me an ancestry.de subscription! (Which might be unavoidable in the long run.)
(Plus I'm a bit tipsy and unfocused after jumping off the big kicker and landing a couple times on a long mailbox all evening – at an indoor snowboard camp in East Germany.) :-)

No worries, Helena. I'm at the back end of my Ancestry world subscription so if you see any others you are interested in just give me a shout.
