A.P., old bean,old chap,old sport...lemme ask you a question:
What do you think of the possibility that Clay Pipe was a Ripper victim?
Good,bad...fair to middlin' ...what do you think..and thanks very much for putting the clipping up on this thread that I plumb forgot about.

Well, How, I don't have much of an opinion on that matter at all, as I have as yet to look at the question in detail, but considering the tour of the murder sites that the funeral cortege took that day it would seem that opinion of the time would have her as a victim of the Whitechapel Murderer.
I believe she was probably the first victim who was present at all the murder sites.

Hi AP
Well in my humble opinion and for what it's worth, I reckon Alice is a typical Ripper victim, archetypal even. But obviously she wasn't because Macnaughton said she wasn't. And the only reason that he could definitely exclude her from the series would be that he knew the case was solved before her murder happened. So when he said 'Jack the Ripper was never caught', I think he lied. Again, IMHO and FWIW.
