I was browsing on Amazon and came across a book titled Jack the Ripper by an author named C Veheyne.
The only details given are:
Paperback
Publisher: Bill Ewington Books
ISBN-10: 0600070409
ISBN-13: 978-0600070405
There is only one copy at £67!
This is a completely new one to me - anyone know anything? I don't even know if it is fiction or factual
The entry I saw is at

Hi Chris
It might be an old title republished.
An idea that it is probably a republication of something old comes with an ABE listing (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=1936156458&searchurl=an%3Dveheyne%2Bc%26bsi%3D30) for another title:
THE JOURNAL OF HENRY BULVER
C. Veheyne
Bookseller: Andre Strong Bookseller
(Blue Hill, ME, U.S.A.)
Book Description: G.P. Putnam's Sons, New York, 1921. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good+. First Edition.
Veheyne also has a Jack the Ripper novel listed on ABE Books (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=736104199&searchurl=an%3Dveheyne%2Bc) so maybe the title on Amazon is a republication of this title:
Horror : A Grim Story of Jack the Ripper
(ISBN 10: 0600070409 / ISBN 13: 9780600070405 )
Veheyne, C
Bookseller: Klanhorn (Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia)
Bookseller Rating:
Quantity Available: 1

Hi Chris
Many thanks for that
from the long and short ISBNs quoted in the info you posted this is a republication of the novel
If the other book was 1921 I wonder when this novel was first published
regards
Chris

She seems to have written several books. Her real name was Ethel Williamson and her pseudonym was Cherry Veheyne, though I have seen her mentioned as Cherry Ethel Williamson Veheyne too.

'Jack the Ripper' was the Australian title of the book. The original title was 'Horror' and published in 1962.
There's no date or biographical information in the Australian copy. Not even a date. It's a fiction book set in 1888.

It's listed in 'Alexander Kelly' as - Veheyne, Cherry Horror 160 p. Brown, Watson (London). The Ripper is a frustrated clergyman encouraged by his Mum.' I've had my copy about 20 years or so. It was first published in 1962 and reprinted in 1964.

Ross Strachan has it in his Ripper bibliography and says of it, 'An excellent novel set in 1888 London featuring the actual victims of Jack. Difficult to obtain although well worth tracking down.'

Anyone else thinking there might be some link from this woman to the Carnac book coming out soon, which originated from the same time and apparently used the real victims as well?
Yours truly,

I've got a couple of dog-eared copies of this one (with the cover Rob shows). Both were purchased from Australia; I think it's unlikely it was ever available elsewhere.

Cherry Veheyne was a winner of the Collins Open Novel Competition, according to The Queenslander Jan 2nd 1936, so she must have been good.
