a.k.a. David Cohen
Thread for the discussion of the interesting correlation between the December 8th hearing at Thames Magistrates Court that also involved brothel keeper Gertrude Smith and two other ladies.
Cohen,of course,is Mr.Fido's David Cohen,who Mr.Fido is of the opinion was the "Jewish suspect".
However...this thread is for this particular date....Dec.7th,the day the charge was made...a date that lived in infamy for Ms.Smith,a 57 year old procuress,whose appearance in court at the same time as Cohen's on the 8th seems to infer that Cohen and the three ladies were brought in all at the same time for activity surrounding the brothel raid.
Cohen was brought in on the 7th by PC Patrick as a lunatic wandering at large.
Smith,et al,were brought in on the 7th by Insp. Ferrett for brothel keeping.
Both parties were entered on the same minute of adjuciation on the 8th.
Smith was fined...and Cohen was eventually jettisoned to the Whitechapel Workhouse Infirmary by the same PC after his moment in the courtroom Sun.
Question.....As much as some of us reject the idea that a lunatic being even interested in bordellos,prostitutes and the like...is this remarkable coincidence of these individuals appearing at the same time a link as it suggests?
