Ordinarily, individuals such as the Beggs,Fidos,Evans',Skinners,Sugdens and Rumbelows come to mind whenever people mention Ripperologists. They can usually be found either on documentaries or throught their seminal work in the field.
Howsabout those who don't get the ink but get your attention?
Richard Jones and Gavin Bromley come to mind today to me having picked up Mr.Jones' new book and remembering that his documentary on the Case has attracted a lot of attention from those who have seen it. Gavin is Gavin. 'Nuff said.
How about you?

I think we tend to overlook Richard Jones as an 'accomplished' Ripperologist. I always thought of him as a historian with a reputation as a writer on the paranormal until Philip Hutchinson put me straight recently by informing me that Richard's key subjects were JTR, Paranormal and Magic and in that order.
One only has to read Uncovering JTR's London to realise that he knows his stuff.

There are a lot of people I could 'promote' here but for sheer amusement/enjoment/invention /seriously good writing and total happiness and a lot of :)s read Robert Bloch's 'Night of the Ripper'- never ceases to amaze!!!!!! Facts huh!! forget 'em enjoy the book and the fantastically-wonderfully introduced and contrived characters (Who's next!!....who's NOT next!!!) and the shocks at the end of the delightfully short chapters!!!!!!!! I've got a First edition (nah nah nah na na!) but love it to bits!!!!!
Purely entertainment but SUCH fun!¬!!!

I'd include James Tulley, Scott Munro, and Viper, among others.

Harold Spratt.
Never heard of him? Well of course not - he's terribly underrated.

Dr Francis Camps contributions seem to be sadly unknown to the newer ranks of ripperology, as well.
