1.What are the chances of any future testing of the diary?

1. Better than some people would have you believe. Non-invasive testing is the way to go, because most of the non-essential ink has already been harvested for previous invasive tests, none of which proved anything conclusively about the age of the document.

If the diary owner was worried about what further testing might reveal, he would not have released the document in the last couple of years for a new test, with a promise that the results would be published regardless of what they indicated.

2.Do you have any plans to write articles in the future?

2. Only if someone asks me! I am having fun just reading and posting for now.

3.Do you believe that there are files still in existence or yet unreleased?

3. I would like to think so but I will not be holding my breath. I think the best we could hope for would be new information that may help to eliminate one or more of the existing suspects.

4.If you have read the O'Donnell manuscript, what's your opinion of that.

4. I would not feel qualified to give an opinion on the manuscript itself. But suffice it to say that if there had been any compelling evidence available that D'Onston was indeed the true face of Jack the Ripper, I cannot believe it would not have been used before now in the various cases made against him.

5. What would be a good ballpark estimate of the amount of time that you spend either thinking or reading about the Whitechapel Murders each week?

3. Goodness that's a hard one, How (as Eve said to Adam). Far too much time is my initial response.

But actually, I probably spend even more time trying to figure out who the hell could have written the damned diary and why!

I do like to keep up with current opinion on the Whitechapel Murders though, so I guess it must be at least as much time as it takes to read through the latest posts on the subject here and at casebook. I'll leave others to figure out how much time that would take on average - probably more than is strictly healthy.

But I'm out all day tomorrow, to shop until I drop. And I won't be taking Jacky Boy with me.
