If Gull is somehow a suspect in the Whitechapel Murders then how come in 1886 was he in the forefront of advancing women in medicine?
Some amusing stuff here as well.
From 'Fun' March 1886.

Quite right, AP. Let 'em do their own hysterectomies.

That's the spirit, Robert.
So it appears that Gull was as mad as many suggest.... women doctors! Who ever heard of such a thing.

Thanks very much for this clipping A.P.

Its a shame that Gull has been disparaged ( Let alone assume that any man of that age and nature would be involved in murders like the WM ) so frequently. He and Doctor Sutton from the LH were co-developers a procedure dealing with the kidney ( damned if I can find it in "The Facts" right now...).

Hi all,

Whilst at the London Hospital I asked about Sutton, Gull and Davies to see if I could get any goss and was informed that Sutton and Gull were good buddies.

Sutton would write lengthy disertations for Gull, who would pass them off as his own, but there were never any hard fellings between the two.

I was also informed Sutton became quite ill and ended up pulling out of the London Hospital all together, leaving his students in the lurch.

regards Mike
