Hi ho

Of all Ripperologists....which one do ye think could have written the Diary?

I am going on the basis now that perhaps a respected Ripper author thought it would be a good prank or whatever and penned the thing. Then when it got out of hand in a big way.....he decided that it had gone pear shaped and shut the hell up.

Its always bothered me that no one has said yes, yes, it was me (and no, I do not believe Barrett and his drunken ramblings).

Has any Ripper author touched on Maybrick in a previous book?

Was an Ripper author suspiciously quiet about the whole matter?

Was any Ripper author in particular anxious that the whole thing should just go away as quickly as possibly and pleaded for everyone to be nice (shocked at what his little trick had precipitated)?

I'd like to propose this scenario. Florie hears a tale from Maybrick that is too incredible and horrible to believe almost, but then she discovers Maybrick's writing, which is so twisted by Arsenic addiction that its just rambling, so she transcribes it into the diary, possibly in an attempt to prove she didn't poison him.

But then decides that the damn document would be more trouble than its worth and hides the damn thing...

Long shot maybe, fantasy possibly, but what the heck, worth a try...
