There has been a change : How's captions have got more worse.

I think the correct terminology is "least best" as opposed to more worse.

Somehow the D'Onston forum became more popular than the Weekly Caption Contest forum. Howard's captions must be driving customers away in droves, but who the h*ll is so interested in ol' Sudden Death? And why? - he's a dead horse as a suspect. :deadhorse:

We have added almost 50,000 posts since January 2009 - about double what had been posted then. That's almost 25,000 posts a year and doesn't even include those that Howard has already snuffed or archived.

Great going, patrons.

You can add around another 12,000 posts to that total, if not more, that have been archived on flash drives ( very few with Ripper content...mostly shits & giggle threads...board announcements and the like).

We arrived at 100,000 posts a while back...

"You don't know how small a calf is if you've never seen a cow." - Glen Campbell

We've been pretty proud of our statistics all right, but then I looked at those of the site where I found the Lost London photographs. Take a look at these babies:

Yes, but anyone can write about photos and places

As a repository for JtR and Victoriana info, 6000 threads is pretty good going, and captions as well! - bonus!

PS Most popular forum being Donston is a surprise - it got more views than the caption contest?

6,000 is a nice number of threads.
We have 10,000 plus.:washing:

Still, I have to tip my top hat to a site that has over a half-million members and over 40 million posts, regardless of what they are about.

I just wonder how they back the site up or if they do. You think Howard wails loudly now every time we have server problems - imagine him losing 43,000,000 posts.

I also wonder how many moderators they must have. Hory Cao!

It is a lot - I wonder if anyone has a poster with a million posts...
