I love the works of James Morton, I have all his books to date and love the aspects of East End Gangs, especially the Krays.
He writes with such a passion that once you start reading his mammoth books, they are difficult to put down.
Today I was in "The Works" book store, it is a small bargain book shop situated under "The Old Custom's House" were Robert D'Onston Stephenson had worked in the 1860's!
I was browsing with my four year old sone when he passed me a book,
"You might like that!" he smiled,
I took it off him and looked at the cover, "James Morton, Gangland, The Early Years".
It was only £1.99 so I snapped it up, but it wasn't until I got home and opened the cover to see what treasure's awaited within.
Chapter 3, in the section "The Early Years" was a chapter entitled "Jack in New York, Chicago, London?"
This chapter looks at Carrie Brown and of course Tumblety, illustrated with the picture, Tumblety is kidnapped!
So far the book is quite intresting.
