Big J:
1. What is your speculation on the Stride murder at this point in time? Are you of the opinion that she was or was not a Ripper victim?

2. Which feature of the Forums would you like to see more of...and if you care to elaborate, less of ?

3. What do you think of the idea of gathering several ( maybe even a dozen or so ) Forums members every Sunday for a "Ripper Roundtable" discussion of whatever comes to mind with a theme to it or spontaneously?

4. Is there a specific article that you have read lately that you would like to see discussed on the Forums, from one of the three functional magazines?
5. If we suddenly found ourselves with several thousand visitors from MENSA, what feature do you think would be most attractive to them...other than photos of me?:becky:

And Big Jon's answers......

1. I think she is one of the "canonical victims". I'm of the opinion that the killer was interupted during the murder (perhaps by Diemschutz, but perhaps by something completly different) and didn't have time to satiate his "appetite" with merely the murder and no mutilations. While it is possible she could be a copycat I think the second murder of the night points towards interuption and needing to fufill desires.

2. I quite like the argument for/argument against section. Particularly the debates which can erupt in there, perhaps some organised debates would be good. I also enjoy the more fun threads, which act as a nice distraction at times.

3. I like that idea, I think some very interesting ideas could be raised. Though an invigilator would be needed I feel, just so arguments don't get out of hand and things don't get too personnel. Perhaps if they have a very loose theme, which could be veered across to more spontaneous ideas as the discussion progresses.

4. Well I only subscribe to Ripper Notes, and have only just had my first issue, so there isn't much for me to choose from, but I'd be interested in discussing Dan Norder's article "Heartless: The Evidence for a Copycat Killer", and John Bennet's "The Myth of Jack the Ripper".

5. I'm sure that this would depend on the personnel preference of the particular MENSA member (I doubt all people with high IQs would be the same), so can't really say. Pictures of you would definitely be a big hook for them Howard!
