1. Out of curiosity, how did you encounter this site?
I heard it being mentioned on the rippercast podcast. The podcast rekindled my interest in the case. I was on casebook a number of years ago but I didn't like the unnecessary bickering and insults. I think this puts a lot of newbies off. You got to the stage of being afraid to post for fear of making an error and being castigated for it. So I didn't.
2. Are you more interested in the search for Jack The Ripper...or perhaps the history of the times at this particular point in time?
I am sort of interested in solving the case but currently I think with the evidence available the case is unsolvable. There is just not enough evidence on the main suspects and even less evidence on unknown suspects ie local people. But I live in hope that some really good evidence turns up. Maybe a diary :faint:
3. Do you have a set of Ripper suspects ??. Please name them without feeling obligated to explain why at this point in time.
I am a unknown local man person. I have read the cases against the main suspects and none have convinced me, some less so than others. Some are however very persuasive Druitt is one. Even Maybrick when I first heard it got me interested but I soon thought he was very improbable. Sickert never got me interested at all.
4. Are you a "Double Event" believer? Or do you exclude Stride?
I would tend to exclude Stride, I think her killer/s where seen, the two men, one knocked her to the ground. It was probably an alcohol fuelled killing perhaps over money.
5. Any new facts stand out from your research and reading over the last year? Please describe it or them.
I was really enthralled when Mike Covell and Yourself pretty much dismissed Stephenson as being a possible suspect as he was incapacitated in hospital at the time of the murders. This sort of research is invaluable in the case. If only we could get more information on the local population...
