The Forums thanks John for his help and effort here. Much appreciated, sor:kiss:

1. Are there many New Hampshire-based newspaper articles which referred to Jack The Ripper back in the LVP ? Not that New Hampshire is that far from the bigger cities on the East Coast, but are you aware of whether it was as notorious a crime as it was in say, Philadelphia or New York?

2. Any plans to update your book, "Confessions of A Ripperologist" ?

3. Do you have plans to attend the upcoming Convention in Knoxville? Are you familiar with all the guest speakers and their work ?

4. Give us your impression of the portrayal of Sir Robert Anderson in the 1973 BBC documentary...the Barlow & Watt "Jack The Ripper". Please elaborate and also discuss whether you think anyone might have been influenced in a small way, at least, by that portrayal to see Anderson in an unsavory light.

5. Anything on the message boards catch your eye and grab your attention as of late? Elaborate if you would like.

1. I don't think I've ever seen anything from a New Hampshire newspaper from that period, so I must plead ignorance on this one- Of course it would be interesting to look back through some local history, but at the moment it's pretty far down on the "to do" list. The coverage by the London press alone I find overwhelming enough, so I haven't strayed too far from that yet.

2. Originally I had planned to expand and update "...Confessions...", but I decided instead to re-write it completely- well, at least to carve it up and re-assemble it in a different form. As it began initially as a way to vent some frustrations as well as organize my opinions on some issues that I felt strongly about, I think (at least as far as I'm concerned) it has served its purpose. So I figured that the next logical step would be to expand on some of the core issues that I have previously explored, trim off the anecdotal and random critical parts and try to put together something with a more coherent theme. And something that the community will take a bit more seriously. It centers, of course, on a certain "definitely ascertained fact" and the East End's Jewish community, but there won't be any surprises. The plan was to have it finished in time for this year's Conference, but I'm afraid the chances of that are slim to none.

3. I'd been planning to be at the Conference, but several things have to work themselves out on my end if that's going to happen, so it's still a definitely maybe.
The only speaker whose work I'm not familiar with is Eugenia Parry, but judging from the company she'll be keeping (the other speakers), I expect her talk should also be something to look forward to.

4. Hilarious! An aloof, brandy-swilling pompous ass, how appropriate. I think the perception of Anderson since the inception of "Ripperology" has evolved from dismissive indifference to disdain and contempt, but the seeds were planted a hundred years ago by Anderson himself, no less; so, yes, I suspect that, as this portrayal of Sir Robert was probably an introduction to the man, this impression, if only subtly, quite possibly settled in with some.

5. There's always so much going on, and so many more voices contributing, that I can't keep up. I try to check them out at least a couple of time a day, but I rarely get to spend enough quality time to feel like I'm in the loop. A couple of things do come to mind though: Over here, I really like the new format, it makes it much easier to focus. And the 5Q thing is definitely my favorite place to hang out. It's such a great idea- it gives everyone a safe place to address issues without interruption or intrusion and it helps us to get to know one another in a way that back-and-forth discussions cannot. Over on the Casebook boards, something that struck me recently was the collection of photos that Rob House posted from his trip to Poland, while pusuing the Kozminski clan's roots.
