The term "life" is such a misnomer. When the crime is so hideous that it clearly demonstrates the individual is a glorified sociopath, then why permit the person to develop a history of such behaviors? Bolt the lock, lose the key. Best case scenairo, the public is permanently safe. Worst case? He continues said behaviors behind bars, does a little "societal cleansing", and saves the taxpayes a few hundred thousand a year in caring for individuals just like himself.

I'd like to add Friday's newest entries for "One Less"...that of the subhuman who put her child in the microwave and the other subman who made his child shoot her cat in order for her to learn how to "kill"....but by tomorrow, these two will be old hat and someone else will raise the ceiling on sickness.
