1. You have consistently been one of the most vocal proponents of the concept that the Ripper murders were of a strictly sexual nature, since 1988's Centennial. What elements within any of the murders COULD you envision NOT being of a sexual nature ?

Good Question. The only injuries that are not being of a sexual nature, would be the throat cuts. These were made as an insurance policy for the deaths of his victims. The closeness, however, for the suspected strangulation meant that though Jack was possibly inferior, sexually, to his victims while they were alive, he still required the power rush of manual strangulation.

2. Whats your position on Martha Tabram ? If you envision her as a Ripper victim, could you please elaborate?

I am really torn here. I do believe that she is a very likely candidate for inclusion in the Ripper murders. My most recent article in Ripperologist, does suggest that she and possibly even Emma may in fact be early attempts at ripping, by the elusive killer.

3. Which area of the Case has intrigued you lately?

Recently I have been writing about Polly Nichols which made me look at the earlier murders, prior to hers and how they may in fact match the Ripper's victims. This has been very interesting and gave me some food for thought.

4. Have you ever considered that Jack The Ripper simply did not care whether he was spotted at or around any of the murder sites ?

This is indeed a possibility. It could just be plain dumb luck. Look at what was happening, there is several unsolved murders in the area, I don't really believe that solving prostitute murders were high in anyone's list at the time.

5. Whats cooking over at AH Headquarters as of late? Working on any new articles?

I just finished an article for the August Ripperologist. And on Thursday I was given a 2 book publishing deal for my next two true crime books (and maybe my last). I am now working on my second crime fiction novel while the first one gets shopped around. I even have an agent now too. It is all go go go in the world of Amanda.

Thanks very much to Amanda for participating !

No problem, it was a lot less painless than I was expecting.

Dear Amanda...

How would it be if some of the Forums members presented questions to you and you fielded them?

If she might see it fit to answer a few additional questions, I have a few...:high5:

1. Based on the injuries and your belief that this was sexual in nature, do you think Jack was an well spoken socialable person (Bundy type), or a quiet loner type?

2. If Jack had been caught do you think he was the type that people never would have suspected? Or the type that the neighbors would say "He's Jack the Ripper?! I always thought that chap had a screw loose."

3. How intelligent do you think Jack was? Below, Average, or Above?
