Following is description of a recent flaw in VBulletin uncovered by Lyn and Suzi, in which member access becomes mysteriously blocked:

Since the same sort of thing happened to Suzi a few weeks ago, here's a run down of what I did this morning and what resulted, if that might be of any help in sorting out where perhaps a software glitch may be:

Went to User CP to update change of email. Got a pop-up to say that I'd be receiving a confirmation email, which I didn't receive, nor have I yet. When I went to log back in later, nada, no entry, not authorised to access page etc. and nor was I on the members list any more. I figured it must be just a glitch of some kind, but did mention it to Dan when he emerged from the deep this afternoon in case he might be having trouble logging in as well.

I suspect it was my changing email info that did it. If I remember correctly Suzi's log in problem happened just after she'd changed her password. That might possibly be the key to this sort of SNAFU should any other Forums member find themselves dismembered at any time. Well, just a thought, anyway.

SO - until this is sorted out by the software vendor, beware of circumstances as Lyn describes here - you may be unable to access the site afterwards. The fix is easy - Howard or I need to revise the member status back to 'registered member', as the bug somehow causes it to revert to 'awaiting moderation' status, which prevents posting.

Consider yourselves informed.

Personally I think it's jealousy because our captions are of a far higher standard How.

Of course it is, brudda. I'm glad you are hip to see this fact. You can't trust these schtups who judge the captions, unless its me, because then its more fair when I do 'em.
