When there are people struggling to make ends meet...going without necessities ( Just today I read an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer, front page, that stated that 1/3rd of all Southeastern Pennsylvanians go without one meal a day and not because they ain't hungry...there are 4 million people in the area)....and just to think that trying to fit the square pegs such as Speck,Bundy,Sutcliffe,Chikatilo back into society makes me want to launch chunks...especially when WE pay for their survival and "rehabbing"...and all of the "WE" are those who do not break rules.
I'm down with Dougie on this one. Save the bread: Chop off their Head.
No "candleholding" vigil-delusional "idealist" ever had one of their family members murdered. I say either whack the losers or let the candleholders take them home with them and have them babysit their 17 year old daughters.

We're not discussing 12 year-old Johnny, who stole a candy bar from a grocery store. We talking about persons who, for whatever physical, psychological, or combination of both "thrills", enjoyed taking a human life so much, that they felt compelled to repeat the process to achieve, or elevate the same thrill. Trying to rehab someone of this midset? That's a helluva risk to take. Especially if the process fails.

I think serial killers can provide useful and meaningful contributions to society.
With a shortage of organ donors and subjects for medical research, this bastards can help plug the gaps.

"Can serial killers be rehabilitated?"
:eek::jaw::mob::bolt::croc::rofl:
Well...maybe with a lot of therapy, tons of meds, and a brain transplant. :becky:

I agree; I have NO sympathy for these guys.
Anyone remember the murderer on Death Row here in Washington State in the mid-1990's, Mitchell Rupe? He was due to be hung for double murder, so he deliberately ate like a pig in prison in order to become morbidly obese & went from a normal weight to 425 pounds! His tactic was to become so grotesquely fat at taxpayers' expense that he could then claim Hanging was "Cruel & Unusual Punishment" because the enormous weight of his own body on a rope would have pulled his head off!
When this was reported on the news one night, it made me so mad- I remember I shocked my boyfriend by yelling at the TV, "Fine! Don't hang him! Just cut off his *#@* head!!"
Yes, little soft-hearted me said that. I still mean it, too. Rupe died in prison in 2006 from liver disease...probably induced by obesity!
