I was born 4 blocks away from Emily Von Schaumberg....Hughes-Hallett's wife....at 8th and Spruce and she was born at 4th and Spruce.

This is what stands at the 1319 Green Street address in Philadelphia....one of the homes HH & The Belle of Philadelphia purchased.

By the way, in a Philadelphia Inquirer "Society" page from 1898....at least 6 or 7 of my ancestors are mentioned on the same page as her.

What year was she born in,Joe? My great Grandmom is all over the society pages in Philly back then....she was born in 1869.

She was born around 1833. So maybe your great great grandfather took her to the prom.

There was an Oct 1920 Washington Post article that had the Belle of Philadelphia foxtrotting on a dance floor in France when she was in her late 80's.
