A few remarks on the growth of the Forums over this soon-to-be-gone-but-hardly-forgotten-month-of-May 2009, as I'd like to share some statistics in regard to how we're faring.

While there have been months where "hits" on the site counter have exceeded this month's total...I'd wager that more hits emanated from Ripperologists than "bots" or spammers in May of 2009 than ever before.

The most significant statistic in my view without any doubt is the number of posts being made by more members, not just one or two usual suspects ....but by a greater number of different Forums members than ever before...

Yesterday was the first time in 36 days that the number of posts went below the 100 post per day mark....

In the month of May,without counting today...JTRForums racked up 4,677 posts and averaged 155 posts per day for the month of May.

To appreciate what that means, it took from September 19th,2005 to the third week of June in 2006...almost 9 and 3/4 months... to equal the number of posts made in this past month alone.

However, the most surprising statistic is that the Forums has actually gone up a whopping 50 percent in terms of posts compared to the 2nd and 3rd largest posting months prior to this month...April and March of this year, months with over 3,000 posts as well.

Threads are being made at a rate of nearly 8 1/2 per day. Thats over 3,100 threads per year. At some point, as Roy Scheider said in "Jaws"..."We're gonna need a bigger boat...":)

Member participation in terms of "log ins" have gone from less than 10 per day back in the early days of the Forums to 50 per day, a development which originated ,once more, in May of 2009.

Thanks to one and all for contributing to the steady growth of JTRForums.com:kiss:

Yesterday was the first time in 36 days that the number of posts went below the 100 post per day mark....

Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year so far in the UK,
The FA Cup Final, with Chelsea and Everton,
The Final of Britains Got Talent, which racked in a fair few viewers.

But great news on a fantastic month!

Robert:

Just how much more better the site would be if I actually wanted to win every week. :boxing: I'd be keeping people up late at night trying to topple the dynasty I could establish.

I've already expressed to you privately how much I/we appreciate how much you have elevated the site over the last two months...and I'll do it now publicly. Thanks for all the improvements to the site that you have been responsible for on behalf of all of us.

Awww thanks Howard
- but I can't accept any praise, I'm just posting really

Simon Wood's and Joe's posts have been particularly outstanding last month I think

The provision of many interesting links by Howard and others has kept me happily busy

& Currebell deserves a mention - she has started many interesting threads recently

Here's to many more!

Cheers everybody
