Seriously guys.... I appreciate your efforts in keeping this site up and running. Though I don't contribute as often as I should, my hourly clicking of this link like a mad monkey on methamphetamines is a large part of my daily routine. I'm off work on vacation for the next couple weeks and am trying to get up to date on a few things here as well as keep track of the Indy homicide rate. So far 4 down in 6 short days.:ranger:

How Brown

This sucks !

Not that you're taking a vacation....but that Indy has twice the homicides we do !:hurt:

This year, I picked 298...considering how sissified Philadelphians are becoming. Even JTRSickert refused my gesture to go out and do some casual, unfettered, drive bys...something about being too tired.

Wimp.

I'm not certain but I believe there was a 5th today (day 7) but I didn't catch the entire news cast. If the residents of Indy keep it up we'll be at 260 by the years end. We just had 4+ inches of snow and when people are all cramped up together in houses tempers flare so it may be better tomorrow morning

Yeah BD, well we had to get rid of the old "skin" ( with that JTRForums.Com...Jack The Ripper and The Victorian Era" logo in silver and black) because it became corrupted...sort of like how Jon Rees became corrupted with power over on Forums Facebook.

Some people couldn't access the new posts and the thing that frightened me the most was the possibility that people couldn't see any of the wonderful captions I put on the Caption Contest thread. I couldn't sleep at night because I was worrying so much about the deprivations people were facing.

But its a lot better now. The only complaints are the stupid posts Tim Mosley squeezes in once and a while.

These types of facilities are taken for granted...which I know you know as well as I do.
Having had a daughter who died from a heart condition, I nevertheless am thankful that Philadelphia has its wonderful Children's Hospital to assist the parents as well as the child.

I just signed to make 24,940

In my town we just submitted a similar petition of 30,000+ names against proposals to change the two major local hospitals, but the planners went ahead and confirmed the plans anyway

Protests are still ongoing

Nemo, I know these things have a habit of going ahead despite massive opposition. In my town we have recently seen maternity and special care baby facilities closed and transferred to another nearby town. But transfering this heart unit completely out of Yorkshire will put young lives at risk as well as causing major problems for parents in Yorkshire who's children have to undergo surgery so far away from home.

Mike,Chris :

It does seem to be a matter of the upload randomly accepting an attachment and denying another.

Mike:

Try this, whenever you feel like it....

Try to upload just one of the two. Then, if it doesn't take it and you get that message...wait a minute and try it again.

I just wanted to give a quick update for those of you who took the time and very kindly viewed my link, and signed the petition to keep a keep childrens heart surgery unit in Yorkshire (Leeds)
Despite the petition support, the results of a recent survey have shown (according to the pen-pushers) that there is no support (apart from locally) for the Leeds unit.
For anyone interested, the full story of the survey is here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/aug/24/child-heart-surgery-closures-poll

"The public were asked which of four options they backed. Two of the options involved retaining seven centres; under the other two, only six would be kept. Because of the way the questions were structured, child heart surgical units at Leeds and the Royal Brompton in London were almost certain to be cut, leaving a straight choice between paediatric surgical centres in Southampton and Leicester."

A foregone conclusion it seems..

Thanks again to everyone who signed. xx
