How Brown

From Brian Porter, author and sponsor of the following contest:
To help celebrate the launch of 'Legacy of the Ripper' the sequel to 'A Study in Red' I'd like to offer someone the chance to win a copy of the e-book version in a fun contest, much as we did with A Study in Red what seems a long time ago.
This time, perhaps you'd ( meaning me,folks...HB) like to think of a very good question or riddle that entrants need to solve in order to win the book and give them a closing date. By the way, Thunderball Films love it and have already signed the book up and intend to produce the movie version some time after completing A Study in Red, so I'm rather happy at that bit of news.
So there you have it Forums members....a contest to win a free copy of the e-book, Legacy Of The Ripper.
Contestants must email ME with your answer(s) and I will notify Mr. Porter.
I will have the question posted soon.

For you a special question because you're special.
When was the War of 1812 ?
*************************
For everyone else............
The question emanates from within the written work of Stewart P. Evans...a.k.a. SPE.
What is the connection of two men from Priel, The Netherlands...to the Whitechapel Murders? Elaborate if you wish...or a simple and correct answer will suffice.
Send your correct answer to me via Private Message
Contest starts at 6 PM EST over here in Philadelphia...no entries accepted before 6 PM MY TIME...so that more people get a chance to see the question. I believe that makes it 10 PM in the UK...and 3 AM,Friday, in Oz...

Well I can answer the first one, but bugger me if I know the answer to the second one...did they supply the Ripper with cannabis, tulips and clogs?

Just in case anyone would like to know a little about what the book is about, it now has its own website at http://legacy-of-the-ripper.webs.com where there is an excerpt available for anyone who wishes to go that far, and of course 'Legacy of the Ripper' is also available in paperback as well as the e-book edition.
Best regards and good luck to everyone.

Thanks my friend,
Yep, the pups sure are proud and we have another little mouth to feed now, (that makes 9). Lulu is our latest rescued dog and she's another beauty.
36 paws to dry when it rains!
Have fun and good luck with How's poser.

The first correct answer to the contest question ( see below ) was.....drumroll.....Archaic !
Her answer was... The two brothers ( page 59 of The Man Who Hunted Jack The Ripper, by SPE/Nick Connell) Adrienus & M. A. Morgenstern...whom SPE suggests as possibly being the long sought after Morgenstern of MJK fame. In 1881 the two lived on 43 Fulham Road.
Congrats from all of us for the ( unusually ) quick and ( even more unusually ) correct answer to Archaic !!!

Many congratulations Archaic. If you'll send me your e-mail address in a personal message I'll get the e-book to you asap.
Unfortunately there's no way for me to autograph it as it is in its final published format from the publisher and I am unable to make changes or add to it, so I can't even add an electronic signature.
Still, I do hope you enjoy the book, and congratulate once again on answering How's incredibly difficult question.
Very best regards

Gee, thanks, Currerbell; you're a pal... man, that was an obscure question! I'm particularly pleased I got it right because How said he took it from one of SPE's books. In case you're curious, MJK was supposed to have lived with a man named 'Morganstone', a rather unusual name, and the attempt to trace him after her murder led all the way to the 'Morgensterns' of Priel.
> Thanks so much, Brian!
But just so you know, I didn't really think you could autograph an E-Book; I was being silly. :)
I will send you my email now; I'm really looking forward to reading your book!
Please give Lulu a pat on the head for me. I will put up some photos soon on my Individual Forum, and then you can see my goofy pink 'Rescue Horse', Pokey, & my other critters.
Thanks again & best regards, Archaic

Hey there A.
I'll look forward to seeing your crazy critters one day. In fact, if the pdf copy of the e-book wasn't in 'read only' format I could have added an e-signature to it, but of course that would mean anyone could change or add to the book, and I don't think the publisher would like people doing that, (neither would I come to think of it...hehe)
Have given Lulu that pat on the head and then had to give the other 8 one too to prevent jealousy breaking out!
I sincerely hope you enjoy the book.
Happy reading
