View Full Version : First Episode of Autumn Of Terror

Mike Covell and I conducted a half hour program devoted to his anticipated Ripper book..."From Hell From Hull"....which Mike elaborates on as well as his background as a Ripperologist and researcher.
Included at the end of the program is a nearly 5 minute observation provided by Jon Rees on various aspects of the Cremers-Stephenson relationship.
This format... Ripper Radio ...is a project that the three of us intend to pursue and improve on ( especially the host and that voice...:banghead:).
With a few minor adjustments, look for it and other programs to appear on YouTube in the immediate future. Jon Rees is in charge of JTRForums Prod. and the future placement of You Tube programs that the Forums provides for the community.
The program will appear shortly on You Tune and Jon will provide the link on this thread.
In the future...we intend to conduct half hour programs with authors and passionate individuals within in the field of Ripperology on many aspects of the Case which need to be brought up.
Criticism of the program, positive or negative, welcome.
Suggestions for future shows as well are welcome.
Now to get those two oldtimers Evans and Begg to appear one day:high5:

Radio is the best media of all time!!! P'raps you could go for the tedious Radio4 'Food Programme' slot on a Sunday afternoon -after 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue'- the antidote to panel games!!!...Now there's a GREAT radio opportunity!!!!:tape:

Howard decided that the video footage of me singing in nothing more than a "It's Never Dull In Hull" T-shirt was just too much, so this could be saved for another show!
The great thing about utilising Youtube/Utube/You Tunes/The Susan Boyle Channel, is that we can add video, images, and Audio, making it the ultimate presentation package.
Viewers can rate and discuss the programme on the youtube pages, or visit here to discuss them.
Viewers can download audio from the shows, and we will provide a link to download such software (wont we Big J?)
Viewers can see what we are talking about, giving us an ideal platform to promote books, movies, tv shows, and the latest finds.
Viewers, who have an account on Youtube, can subsrcibe, and keep uptodate on the latest shows.
Viewers can share video's by sending them to friends, or posting them on facebook, myspace, etc.

Jon has recieved all the necessary files for the program ( In the future, I will put a montage together during the spoken word so that people will not be looking at a blank screen.
I have already viewed the program on Real Player and criticisms aside...it came out well in terms of technical quality.
Big thanks to Jon:kiss: for suggesting the best possible way of sending the files since they approached 30 something Mb. A really big file. It was moider trying to compress them suckers.

Okay I've got the initial files and put them together. I just need to divide it up and upload it.
I'm popping out for a few hours, but I reckon the episode will go live soon after 1am UK time.

Before I logged on to the forums today, I checked Twitter and read Mike's tweet and was already curious, but had no idea that it was a forum project.
I'm so going to listen to that. Tomorrow though - I'm too exhausted to be able to enjoy that at 2 am our time!

Its a shame that I can't give Jon a massive hug for improving the presentation by adding the photo of D'Onston while the dialogue progresses. Terrific last second work,Jon.

Folks:
Any interested parties who might want to appear on the program with the trio of us are heartily welcome to contact us with your ideas.
One idea that I had today would be a program on "The Hiding Place"...the location the Whitechapel Murderer may have gone to after committing his atrocious crimes.
In an abandoned warehouse? In the bosom of his family? Out of the East End? On the street? Or back to his regular work as if nothing was out of the ordinary? You tell US.
We hope that other Forums members will make a minor investment in a Skype friendly headset with microphone....download Skype ( Its free,Robert Linford...its free....) and lets take it from there.
Thank you.

Was a last second idea to liven things up rather than just have a black screen.

Looks and sounds good. I like the fact that Howard is in my left ear, whilst my awful Hull accent comes via the right ear!
Wow!
Fantastic

Thank you Nemo & Ultra Violet.
Do either of you have Skype,by an chance?
It would be a great thing if you two folks as well as a lot of other Forums members had Skype and a compatible microphone ( By the way, don't step on them...I've done that twice in the last year or so...they don't work too good afterwards) so that we could share ideas on subject matter previously undiscussed on any Internet medium....or just shoot the breeze at some point.

I listened to Part One and it was great...
But it's a little bit of a "split brain" experience to have Mike talking in my right ear & How in my left
So I fixed it by banging my head against the wall, and then the voices integrated perfectly.

Forums members and those not members of JTRForums ( "civilians"...) may contact Jon Rees,Mike or myself with program ideas. Not sure about a program for the weekend of July 18-19, as the Big Tamale is still in Spain....but your ideas are welcome.
Take a minute or so and download Skype. You will be glad you did.:high5:
