Can anyone explain to me what is meant by a 'Jewish appearance'?

Ive read it in several witness statements by coppers...

The caricature of the Ashkenazi Jew....dark hair,dark eyes, prominent nose, often thick lipped...often bracycephalic skull... round headed,as opposed to doliocephalism ( long headed).

Not back then. It was a time when people tended to deal more with stereotypes than we tend to do in our more "enlightened" era.
