Many, many "Ripperologists" have pontificated, theorised and guessed. Reading through much of their texts it is easy to see lots of errors, poor logic, lack of research and just plain incorrect facts.

The author of this programme and his forbears lived, schooled and worked in Whitechapel and surrounding areas of east London "The East End". Whilst it will be impossible to ever prove the following data; following the background research and plain commonsense will convince the viewer of Montague John Druitt's likely guilt.

A most interesting article and theory. When I wrote 'A Study in Red' and couldn't use my own 'prime suspect' for the book because he didn't fit my fictional profile, Druitt sprang to mind as a viable alternative as the template for my fictionla JTR. Dare I hope I was closer to the truth than I imagined? Of course we'll never know, but this hypothesis does make interesting reading.:high5:

It would be nice to get Pete on these boards and maybe discuss this gem:

"Why do I say this? Simply because JTR clearly selected, stalked, close hunted then seized upon his prey with the result being a killing to satisfy whatever desire, lust or evil drove him; as it did for numerous others we can all name."

Not only is there the issue of Berner Street ( selected and stalked? How about ran into on his search?)...but "clearly" selected and stalked Nichols?.. "Clearly" selected and stalked Chapman?

Oy.

Tim, I found that Australian guy's website late last night looking for another image of the Hanbury St fence & was going to post a link, but you beat me to it!

His version of the Annie Chapman photo made me do a double-take; it is so 'touched up'...
so is his MJK photo.

I was wondering if the latter might be the "improved version" Cook used for his recent book?

Poor Druitt; I feel sorry for him... he had misery in life and still has misery in death.
