The gentleman in charge of our hosting resolved the attachment issue last night.
The 3,500 + attachments have been saved. I now have to convert them to a different format.
Those who have been providing Ripper related attachments are encouraged to resume posting...and I will be happy to convert the attachments afterwards.

Someone's gonna have to make sure they're relevant attachments. I'll take the job on if no one else can spare the time.

If people will just learn to use Photobucket, we can stop worrying about attachments
and stop wasting How's time on them.
It will be much simpler & better for the site in the long run. It's also a convenient way to store & manage photos without using up space on your hard disk.
I'm very low-tech. Believe me, if I can use Photobucket successfully, anyone can.
Photobucket Tutorials are available at Photobucket.com

Why not when someone clicks the add attachment button instead of it attaching and uploading something it redirects to a page of instructions on how to use photobucket etc.

String, maybe those of us who know how to use Photobucket can offer to help show others...
that's exactly how I learned.
I wouldn't mind helping another member learn the ropes via Skype.
As I told How, I know how to do it, but don't know the correct terminology well enough to want to write the instructions down; it will be much easier to speak them...
because then I can just say "Good; now click on the thingy". :)

Scott:
Thats very decent of you to offer your help...and please don't think I take your offer lightly.
My job...is to convert the current ones. Thats not an issue whatsoever. If I do 1mb a day for 1 year, we're gonna have a superfast site and almost no load by this time come Yom Kippur 2010 ( Which today is,by the way).
IF...someone would like YOU to take on new attachments ( I am currently taking care of SPE's......and A.P. Wolf's... and Covell-Lipski's....plus mine) , then that would be appreciated. If not, I still appreciate your kind offer.
