Its been a while since I sponged off of anyone...

Does anyone in the U.K. have access to a series that appeared over there entitled, "Mystery Files" ?

Tracy Ianson mentioned the documentary ( shown here )

Please let me know whether anyone could tape it for me...I'll send the necessary dosh.

Thanks much,

How:

Shame you didn't mention about the Mystery Files episode about a month ago, it was shown a few times down here! Although not sure if i'd have any luck recording it for you, pretty sure the US and Aus have different regions and they don't work - as I found out the hard way....

For what it's worth, the part about Levy didn't run for any more than a few minutes, they spent the first 20 minutes or so of the episode (which is only 30 mins long) just talking about the murders themselves....

Not sure if this link is any help to you, but:

Cheers,
Adam.

I have region free software and can watch discs made in any region.
Thanks for that link, but it doesn't give you access to the actual show.

How:

Ugh. Thought it had a link to where you could watch it from that page.
Well atleast you have region free software - there's probably somebody in the UK that could get it but if it comes on again down here in the meantime i'll be sure to record it for you.

Cheers,
Adam.

Does anyone have a copy of Major Arthur Griffiths's Mysteries of Police and Crime Vol. II?

I heard there was a section on Frederick Bailey Deeming in the book and I am eager to read it.

I have read Vol. I.

According to Google Books Frederick Bailey Deeming is mentioned in Vol. II, however, searching the ebook that Debs very kindly provided the link for shows this not to be the case.

Mike, have you looked at 'Secrets of the Prison House' Vol. II? Also by Griffiths.
A Deeming is mentioned in this one, plus an illustration subtitled Deeming, that I have personally never seen before. It's in Chapter IV- 'Three Types of Murderers'. I haven't read the account to know if it is about F.B. Deeming or not though.

Cheers Debs, there are several books available on Samuel Deeming, Fred's brother, as he was a well known repeat offender and spent a lot of time in prison. I read an account recently of S. Deeming in Serious Offenders: A Historical Study of Habitual Criminals, so will give the Secrets of the Prison House' Vol. II a look.

I have all the volumes, Deeming starts on page 45. What can I do to help?

Whoa! Seriously grumpy photo of Deeming on page 53.

Thanks Bob, I have sent you a PM. I have seen a picture of him where he is looking face front to the camera and he looks seriously miffed.
