I saw my namesake in Chris Scott`s Whitechapel Infirmary records for 1888.
John Simmonds was suffering from syphilis, 22 yrs old, a hawker, single, and lived at 60 Wentworth St (right opposite the northern end of George Yard).
My reason for popping him in the Joe Bloggs Suspect forum were the interesting dates that he was laid up at the Whitechapel infirmary. He went in on the 9th Oct, and came out on the 8th Nov. Just in time for the Lord Mayor`s Show.
