Yes indeed, well deserved.
I hope he won't mind me saying this, but Rob's face takes on a particular expression when he hears something that he is not quite sure about - it involves him tightening his lips and squinting a bit.
As Loretta finished the final part of her introduction and it was becoming plain that Rob had won the award, that expression appeared. It was as if he realised what was about to happen and could not believe it and was thinking (as Rob perhaps might) "Nah, b***ocks". Needless to say, he was almost speechless.
Congratulations Rob!

Cheers guys. I think John got it spot on there. Although on this occasion thankfully I was too shocked to say b****ocks.
And I don't think anyone took any photos of me getting the award.

John,
I was actually choked up, as Kate (who was sitting next to me) will testify. I was relieved when Ripperland came on.
Speaking to Rob after, he thought it was for Stewart Evans. This cos a huge image of 'Then and now' was being shown on screen and the first name he saw was Stewarts, who did the foreword.
Stewarts already won it Rob. Now you can compare awards.

And I don't think anyone took any photos of me getting the award.I did, Rob - but it turned out blurred. The lens must have dewed up :) Here you are doing the "I'd like to thank the Academy..." bit:

I've got a photo too but it's probably a bit blurred as well.
The point of the award now is for someone who does tons of work in the field but doesn't get the attention. Rob is the examplification of that. As are Debra Arif, Chris Scott, Jake Luukanen and Colin Roberts (for future reference!) I'd say John Bennett and Mike Covell too, but they DO get the attention.
Someone (probably Rob) said to Paul Begg afterwards that he thought HE was going to get the award and Paul rightly pointed out that was not what the presentation in Jeremy's name was about.
I'm thrilled Rob got this recognition at last. It is well-earned and, like everyone else, I can't think of someone more deserving.
However, this hasn't stopped him being a piss-taking bastard. :fish:

I've already congratulated Rob a couple of times, but they say three's a charm, so CONGRATS ROB!!! :thumbsupbud: :bowl:
PS: I'll pay cash if anyone has a video or even a photo of an inebriated Rob doing karaoke.
Please note- I don't mean just any Rob, it does have to be Mr. Clack.
He already told me one doesn't exist, but I'm not sure I believe him...
Anyway, I know you guys can fake just about anything in Photoshop.

Of course I am the soul of discretion and would never put anyone in an embarrassing position, but I believe the DVD of Phil's tour will reveal a number of "helpful" hands on your rubber ducky at the mortuary.
Congratulations once again on your well deserved award.
