I couldnt find a thread to say happy new year to everyone, so i thought I'd start one.
not been a great start as i have flu. Discovered this morning my partner had taken the metal tab off my celebration champaigne and it blew up in the fridge!
Still lots of work to do..have currently been side tracked by Berner street ..again.
Hopefully catch you all in the new year..still working on those NTSC copies of conference.
Have a good new year

All the same to you too Jeff. Hoping that the refrigerator problem gets sorted shortly.
Something like that happened to me around New Years Day 1980. I took an icepick to remove some ice in the back of an old refrigerator, one of the old timers that you had to defrost every other day or so it seemed... but not being careful, hit the freon filled coils and the freon gas shot out everywhere. It was about 10 degrees below balls cold that morning and I had to lift the box and put it out front all by myself. Nice way to wake up,eh ?
In any event.... once more following JL's lead...Happy New Year to one and all.

All the best!!
We saw the New Year in outside surrounded by neighbours and family. The air was filled with the sounds of ships horns at the nearby docks, fireworks and cheering. We could see the flashes of fireworks and chinese lanterns.
My mother asked me "Where is the snow?" as it stated that a light covering would occur, however, moments later a bright flash, followed by loud thunder, then the heavens opened!! The sky was no longer filled with fireworks but white balls of hail! The street cleared and all fell silent, all within minutes of midnight!
The kids ended up in our room, and the storm passed, but it fell quite after that!
I too have been ill all Christmas, with cold, diorrea and sickness, headaches, and tonsilitis, but seeing my dad, mum, and sister at midnight smiling and welcoming in the new year and the new decade together made it all worth it.

Well, 2010 is starting off in a good way...
I got my usual 200 spams in the email...and one of them actually informs me that if I wanted to, I could turn my manhood into a "weapon".
Who wouldn't, right ?
I figured that I could use it when I hadda run in a supermarket to get a loaf of milk or bottle of bread and hadda stand in back of that one detached gal or dork in line with 2,000 items with hard to find UPC codes. I can imagine his or her terror when he saw atitanium warhead aimed at his midriff if I decide to go full speed ahead with turning Mr. Warmth into a weapon of mass destruction.
If'n youse don't see me for a while....look on the television news for the madman at the meat market...

Happy new year everyone. I saw in the year surrounded by my duvet.
How, if you have a weapon of mass destruction please inform your government, who will promptly destroy it.
