Here are some excerpts relative to the WM found in Sir Robert Anderson's 1910 biography, The Lighter Side of My Official Life ( a.k.a. TLSOMOL).
I figured I'd share some of my views on what Anderson said and hopefully others will make their feelings known on the 100 year old issue of Anderson and the Polish Jewish suspect.

"One did not need to be a Sherlock Holmes to discover that the criminal was a sexual maniac of a virulent type ; that he was living in the immediate vicinity of the scenes of the murders -SRA
Plausible theory and a likely one. Many of us feel that way today, whether for the same specific reason as Anderson or perhaps an alternate one.
and that, if he was not living absolutely alone, his people knew of his guilt, and refused to give him up to justice- SRA
Several instances of killers living with family members with full knowledge of their crimes since that time supports Anderson's suggestion. His people does not necessarily have to do with blood lines, but possibly by marriage or even friendship.
During my absence abroad the Police had made a house-to-house search for him, investigating the case of every man in the district whose circumstances were such that he could go and come and get rid of his blood-stains in secret. And the conclusion we came to was that he and his people were certain low-class Polish Jews; for it is a remarkable fact that people of that class in the East End will not give up one of their number to Gentile justice.-SRA
Just as it is equally a remarkable fact that people of various stratums other than Jewish or low class will not give up one of their number. One can point to wealthy or connected people who have done the same. That Anderson did not mention all the types of people who would resist giving up one of their own is not a reason to suggest that he only meant low class Jews.
Anderson,by the way, is not the only police official to make a note of the reticence of Jews in low places to assist the police. Det Inspector. Henry Cox makes a similar remark on December 1st,1906 in Thomson's Weekly News upon his retirement from the City of London Police... 4 full years before Anderson's remarks were published in Blackwood's Magazine. Cox mentions that he had to assume the guise of a factory inspector when among some poor Jews in order conduct surveillance work.
In saying that he was a Polish Jew I am merely stating a definitely ascertained fact. And my words are meant to specify race, not religion. For it would outrage all religious sentiment to talk of the religion of a loathsome creature whose utterly unmentionable vices reduced him to a lower level than that of the brute.- SRA
An explanation provided to delineate those who follow the credo of Judaism as opposed to a lower class prole who didn't live up to Anderson's embodiment of a Jew
