Very good photos. I especially liked the one with the sketch of the guy who was stalking Lusk.

They are great.

The Lusk "visitor" sketch gives me a thought. If you think that Lusk and the Vigilance Committee hoaxed the kidney story in order to give themselves publicity, then they had to have put this guy up to the suspicious inquiry as well.

Perhaps "had" is too strong a term, because obviously he could have had an unrelated question.

Does anyone else see a resemblance to Sadler ?

Not to deviate and I am glad you and JT liked the photos...

...but this notion of the Vigilance Committee hoaxing the kidney winds me up. It really does. I understand that not everything is as cut and dried as we percieve it in life and in this field and although I try to be as common-sensical as possible, I recognize that there are times when "out of the box" thinking is creative and possibly more productive than "stick to the basics" thinking....but it puzzles me why some consider the Vigilance Committee was behind the kidney. I admit I could see Bachert doing something bizarre ( considering he's got a finger in virtually every pie in the East End by 1890 or so it seems....)

These guys were all business people and likely all parents . How likely is it that one of them goes to the extent of sending a human organ to Lusk ?

If they really wanted celebrity for their cause, why not draft a phony letter saying, "In 3 days Mr. Lusk, I intend to cut off a woman's head and send it to Charles Warren...." ?

Oh well. :bored:

Oh, it annoys me no end as well. I am completely on board with you on that.

I don't even buy into the idea that it was a medical student.

Anybody doing it was inviting a world of hurt, far beyond what you get for pulling a fire alarm to get out of school. Unless it was a solitary prankster who told no one, I find it hard to believe the truth wouldn't have leaked out sooner rather than later.
