Suspect arrested Nov 1888

I recently read a small press article that states that a suspect was arrested in Whitechapel on the morning of Nov 22 188 and put up a "furious resistance" and was believed to have been in the act of committing a further murder

Does anyone recognise the story and can identify the suspect?
