I'm trying to compile all the written occourences of the police beats for the following individuals. Any help would be greatly appreciated:

P.C. Thomas Barrett (226H)
P.C. Jonas Mizen (56H)
P.C. John Neil (97J)
P.C. John Thain (96J)
P.C. Henry Lamb (252H)
P.C. William Smith (452H)
P.C. Edward Collins (???)
Detective Constable Daniel Halse (Was he anywhere else besides being posted on the corner in Aldgate?)
P.C. James Harvey (964 City) - Not needed
P.C. Edward Watkins (881) - Not needed

All is needed is a written account, and where it's being cited from for future use. This is for my upcoming "Project" I've been advertising as of late. Also anyone who helps of course will be acknowledged properly.

Regards,
Justin

JD:

Your best bet would be to contact Rob Clack or Neil Bell.
They've done extensive work on the P.C.'s...
By the way, I'm sure Halse didn't have to walk a beat at the time.

Mizen was raised on his families farm in Little Bardfield in Essex.

1871 Census - 23 year old Jonas Mizen was the Gardiner living at 115 Tamworth Lane Mitcham with his younger Brother Ebezeener.

On 3rd August 1876 Police Constable Mizen married a widow 13 years his senior named Mary Stanton at St Andrews Church, Bethnal Green.

1881 census has Mizen at 33 St Andrew Street School, Bethnal Green.

1891 census shows Mizen at 10 St Andrew Street, Bethnal Green.

1901 sees Mizen returning to the family farm on which he was born to John. Incidently, when Mizen was around 4 years of age his Father took a horse trader to court for selling him a sick horse. Mizen senior won his case. I assume John had passed away by 1901 and the running of the farm fell to Jonas. His mother was still alive at this point.

1902 Kellys directory shows Jonas Mizen as a Farmer in Little Bardfield, Essex.

Jonas Mizen died on 12th February 1909 at Little Bardfield. His effects came to the sum of £403 5s 4d. The clerk was his brother Josiah.

PS Apologies for the crap images. Its late and Im too whacked to change them. Will try tomorrow.

PPS I have PC Barrett in Bell Lane. However I suspect this is not part of his 88 beat.
