Thanks for bringing up Brodie.
He's a unique example in that throughout our study of the Case, he seems to stand out as someone with a real interest in the reports of the murders. At that point in time, it would have been very,very easy for the British police to simply accept his "confession". Far less serious personal crimes or crimes of lesser social magnitude have been "solved" based on less incriminating evidence such as what Brodie supplied.
Kudos to the British police as always for simply not taking things at face value.

Well, I rekon at least one good thing came out of the WM... a lot less lunatics were running around in the end. If they did that now we might be able to find a shopping cart that didn't wobble when we go to the supermarket because all of the homeless people had gotten the good ones.
