One of the things I've noticed in doing these newspaper searches is the number of articles which appeared in the American Southwest ( California included) from the states of New Mexico,Texas, and Arizona. The Dallas & Fort Worth ( virtual twin cities separated by a few miles) papers have had quite a few stories alone. You'll remember the series I just put up and completed on Frederick Porter Wensley's autobiography, "40 Years Of Scotland Yard"....

This one is from Tombstone,Arizona....that Tombstone, the one of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the O.K. Corral.

Local assaults, even 5,000 miles from London and in tumbleweed towns such as Tombstone, were compared to the crimes of the Saucy One.

..."A La Jack The Ripper" just a month before the Coles murder.
I jumped a little on the chair over here when I saw where this critter slashed at the woman...yeesh !
