Silly suggestion I suppose....

....but could the Ripper murders have been some sort of initiation ?

Is this along the lines of what Sir Charles Warren was thinking...in terms of a secret society ?

Strange name for a murderous society

Initiation is one of the few possibilities Howard

It's not often you get a secret society who kills just for the sake of it - like Thugees murdering in order to honour Kali

A murder would probably be done as you say, for initiation, for punishment, or for political / economic / magical reasons
