It was also an attempt to kill my maternal grandmother (who had it) and prevent me from being born and coming on JTR Forums.

My maternal grandfather (born in 1887) didn't get it but he was three years older than her and probably was immune because he'd had the theorized milder version of the disease that went through the population around 1888/89. That's the theory as to why this flu, unlike others, was actually more devastating to young adults than it was to older adults.
