I looked for this article both here and on Casebook....couldn't find it anywhere, so here it is.

Fascinating article. It is typical of medical professionals to think legislation is a cure for social evils.

I have wondered if Mary Kelly's time in an infirmary could have been due to the Contagious Diseases Act. I think the time would have been right and Cardiff must have been subject to the Act?
