I meant his possible signature from the 1911 census. Gareth posted a selection of previously researched GHs 1911 signatures for comparison to the witness signature. I didn't recall this GHs among them, is all.

I have found several cases on the 1911 where the signature is not actually of the person. My signature is from the original entry in the register of marriage.

I've no idea. Like I said his signature is buried at the moment. As soon as I can get it I will compare.

            Gh family tree.

I was in my old office yesterday and there was a piece of paper on the floor. It turned out to be a preliminary family tree drawn up for GH. I did this about 12 years ago. It might prove interesting until I can get to my complete records.

Image useless have posted another on next page!

Thanks Bob, but Romford Road, Ilford goes from the centre of Ilford in the direction away from Romford. 'The' Romford Road commences in Stratford and ends in Ilford, still about 6 or 7 miles short of Romford.

Romford Road Ilford goes through Hainault Forest park and is only a few miles from Romford.

                        Hi Phillip

It isn't quite as far as you say, is it? It's less than an hour on the bus - so one can walk it in even less.

It depends whereabouts in Romford Rd she was born, of course.

I once walked from Bunhill Row in the City of London to Romford and I can confirm that it is a very long road. However the part of the road in Ilford is only a few hundred yards long. I was born and raised in Romford and some of my ancestors were also born in or near Romford Road.

                            Hi Phillip

Romford Rd is a bloody boring road, apart from the medieval hospital chapel which is open to the public on appropriate days.

                              Romford road

There seems to be some confusion here about Romford Road. There are two in the vicinity of Romford.

The one I am talking about is the A1112, the one everyone else seems to be referring to is the A118
