Default Conspiracies and Secret Societies: The Complete Dossier by Steiger and Steiger

For whatever it is worth, on Google Books, Conspiracies and Secret Societies: The Complete Dossier by Brad Steiger and Sherry Steiger (Visible Ink Press, June 1, 2012) including. . .

Discussion of Prince Albert Victor and Philippe Juliene's 1962 book Edouard VII that first mooted, in a major book, Royal involvement in the Whitechapel Murders. Believe it if you will.

This is not specifially a Ripper book but is about various "conspiracies" as you can judge from the following blurb --

"This compelling encyclopedic reference includes hundreds of individuals, organizations, and events where official claims and standard explanations of actions and events remain shrouded in mystery. It examines the most common subjects among conspiracy theorists, from historical topics such as the true relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, the Roswell UFO crash, and the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. to more current issues such as the death of Princess Diana, FEMA’s response following hurricane Katrina, and the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. With photographs and illustrations, a list of resources for further investigation, and a comprehensive index for thorough cross-checking, this dossier debunks popular myths and presents the evidence on an invisible world of influence and power. Separating fact from fiction, this reference provides gripping details and presents the information without bias and, updated and expanded, includes information on nearly 40 new subjects."

Best regards

Chris

Stewart Evans traces Philippe's sources back to Thomas Stowell who published his Royal Conspiracy article in 1970. http://www.casebook.org/dissertation...nsorigins.html

Stowell twice gives his source as William Gull's daughter, Caroline Acland. She supposedly had secret papers about Prince Eddy and told a tale of Robert James Lees in Ghost Detective. The story goes Stowell met with her in the thirties but she died in 1929. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.co...-02/1109226292

As someone who, if he has to, would put more stock in strong rumor over a lot of other controversial aspects of the case, it makes me wonder if the source can't be traced further back than 1929-30s....

Interestingly, Caroline Acland's husband is a cousin of the wife of the 2nd Earl of Carnarvon (Elizabeth Kitty Acland), making Thomas Dyke Acland cousins with the Carnarvon family.

It's interesting because, according to her family's genealogy, Elsie Frances Sullivan ne. Searle, wife of L'pool MJK's son, is the goddaughter of the 4th Earl of Carnarvon. (Below is the 1891 census image showing her future uncle Pierre Funel in the Carnarvon household in Pixton, Somerset. Her aunt Elizabeth Ryan is further down the list.)

Since she also knew Prince Eddy's betrothed, Princess May, could this be the path for a tale of an "MJK" orphan who may not have known who real his father was?

Teck/Searle to Carnarvon to Acland to Stowell to Phillipe to Speare to Knight....

This from Wikipedia Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution

Quote:
Stowell knew Gull's son-in-law, Theodore Dyke Acland, and was an executor of Acland's estate.[10] Bold mine.

[10]^ Begg, pp. 288–289 and Knight, pp. 202–203
This is another direct connection to the Carnarvon family and the 4th Earl's goddaughter who married L'pool MJK's son.
