Default The 100 Best B-movies of All Time

http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/l...-time.html?a=1

If you've never seen The Giant Claw,

you've missed a Cheese Classic.

And Robot Monster,

even worse than Plan 9 From Outer Space.

And here THAT is:

And Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine,

played to perfection by Vincent Price in his campiest role.

Finally, one of my all-time faves, which even today I can watch over and over:

Yup, the famous House on Haunted Hill.

Plenty more to look at for you movie hounds.

Disappointed that "Fiend Without A Face" is missing.

Ah! The Giant Claw. Apparently they filmed everything except the special effects, by which time they'd run out of money so that the horrific flying monster the actors had done reaction shots to looked like a rubber plucked chicken on an elastic band. At the premier people roared with laughter at the sight of the monster. I laughed quite a lot too.

Paul! Welcome back!

I love House On Haunted Hill. I actually kinda liked the remake too.

I don't know if I've seen even 10 of the ones on the list but the original The Blob and The Incredible Shrinking Man definitely belong on there - House on Haunted Hill, perhaps. In my view, there are many, like Colossus of New York, that should be on there and aren't. I think most of those on the list are really beneath B movies. No British quota movies or Italian giallos?

Most appear to be drive-in movies or, in a more recent era, direct to video.

Some of these B movies are among my all-time favourite films, e.g. Dr Terror's House of Horrors and House on Haunted Hill. Nit-picking point about the latter : to have Price say, in the intro, "she's so amusing" twice just doesn't work for me and I can't imagine why it was done like that.
