Apparently, Police Commissioner Sir Edward Bradford was just as in the dark as to the "identification" as everyone else was in 1892...a year or so after it allegedly transpired.

Wasn't one of James Monro's grandson's named Christopher ? Obviously this is a contemporary report and its not former Commissioner Monro's grandson....
.....but what a name !............. as Mr. Fido would say...
I neglected to mention him as well...because it stopped me in my tracks that they rev up the head of CID for an assault. I don't get it,Simon.
If there were X number of murders in London and x numbers of assaults in the city from 1888 to 1892....did senior brass go to each location ? It sure seems like DSS had little else to do between 1888 and 1892 other than the Pearl Case in Feb of 1892...as its the only reference so far I found before I went out for a few hours.
