Thank you for finding and posting this, Howard. This actually relates to Charles Le Grand. At his trial, while cross-examining his employee, James Hall, he asked if it was true that he and another man had gone to Kennington to extort money from a servant girl. Of course, Le Grand also wrote letters in red ink talking about Jack the Ripper. James Hall denied the charge and it looks like only this man Hughes went up for it. This is yet another piece of the puzzle, and it's good to have it.

By the way...what are the odds that the first two researchers who commented on the article would be from the same city in the US ? Not to forget to mention that I almost moved to Oklahoma too. Small world.
