We all know the story regarding Frederick Bailey Deeming and his visit to Hull, but over the years tracking down the newspaper reports of his criminal achivements in the town have been thwarted. More often than not, I would find a small piece in the Hull Press, covering no more than a few lines, and stating that Deeming/Lawson had been charged and sent to Hull Gaol for 9 months.
This was odd, as later newspaper's made mention of these criminal activities, so I knew there must be a series of articles somewhere. With this in mind, I began my search again, and I am pleased to share with the jtrforums.com members my findings.

Harry Lawson, aka, Frederick Bailey Deeming, in the 1891 Census in Hull Prison with Joseph Dawber, the cousin of Robert D'Onston Stephenson, aka, Roslyn D'Onston. I spoke about this in my Hull based Ripper lectures, but I don't think I ever showed this.
