Well the good news is that, while he's still far from being his old self, it sounds as if Meatloaf has improved his performance dramatically since the performance you all saw at the start of this thread:

    Onya Meat!

    Maria:

This I knew and I think it's pretty cool.

Better to be a rock star turned politician than a politician turned rock star.

Glad to hear Rammstein have tons of hits over there, there's not a lot of German music which is mainstream outside of Europe....the language barrier, perhaps!

As far as Aussie artists go, how about Olivia Newton-John getting Physical? She has a lovely voice.

Still a very sexy lady too, despite the fact that she's in her 60's.
Does a lot of charity work as well....

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Yeah, for German music the language barrier is a definite obstacle.

Wow, Olivia Newton-John is 60? Amazing!
      Best regards,
      Maria

        Maria:

She's just turned 63, to be exact. Doing very well indeed for her age, both vocally and physically.

        Cheers,
        Adam.

For anybody interested, since we're on the subject.....on the current Australian series of X Factor, one of the contests did a cover of Meatloaf's "I'd Do Anything For Love"....but he did it as....wait for it.....a dance remix.

Now I know that sounds ridiculous and I thought so when I first heard of it as well, but having seen it, it actually doesn't go all that bad!

          Thoughts?

          Cheers,
          Adam.

I could see that being played in a club. I'd dance to it.

Glad you would George, cause i'm not sure Meatloaf and dancing go together that well.

              Cheers,
              Adam.

                Hey Adam,
I can dance to anything that has a good beat to it. I'm not picky, music is music after all even if it is someone just clicking their tongue in rhythm.

reminds me of a song, by Bob Willis and His Texas Playboys

                  Get With It

                  Rhythm here
                  Rhythm there,
                  Rhythm going every where,
get with that red hot Rhythm now.

Although I like the Andrews Sisters myself.

The weekend just gone was the AFL Grand Final, one of the biggest sporting days on our calendar, and the pre-match entertainment included a performance by legendary rocker Meatloaf.

As a Meatloaf fan and owner of his "Bat Out Of Hell" album, it was painful for me and many millions of other Australians to see such an iconic individual reduced, by age and health, to a performance like this:

                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwHbQyIILMw

On the plus side, the game itself was a beauty!
Here's hoping Meat gets back to his best but one can't escape the feeling that it's very much passed him by....

                    Cheers,
                    Adam.

                      George:

Yes very true, any song that you can rock out to has to be a good one. Unless it involves you having to watch your mother "rock out" at a concert to Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, and Go West, as I discovered last weekend.... *

*Tony Hadley has actually got an amazing voice. Not my style of music (he says, as he listens to Aerosmith) but won me over.

                      Chris:

                      HA! Wow...
Well in that case, just imagine Justin Timberlake doing a cover of IDAFL, and you've pretty much got it covered.

                      Cheers,
                      Adam.
