    Gary:

Not all of the attachments are in Photobucket. Not all of the attachments were placed by me.
Some of the attachments ( in the last two years) are hosted by Imgur.
If someone was going to take the site over and handle the Photobucket attachments, there'd be no need to worry about the Imgur-based photos because the account is free.

      Ah, thanks, How.

I've just seen this. It would be utterly devastating if this site was to be lost. So much has been put into by How, Nina, many researchers and members.
Wouldn't charging members a small annual subscription keep the site going? I'm sure members would be only too pleased to support it. Nothing is free in this world, and if it is, someone is paying for it somewhere.
        Just a suggestion. Regards, Amanda

Thanks for your comments. I think any suggestions for the best way forward are very welcome, and nothing should be ruled out in the longer term.

Obviously it will be best if the site can continue to be freely available as an active discussion forum. At the moment we're trying to raise the money needed for the main hosting renewal in November, which would allow us to carry on as we are now for another year, so that we can discuss and look into options for the future. Currently people have offered a total of 650 out of the 760 dollars that will be needed in November, so a few more donations would solve the short-term funding problem.

Just confirming what I've read elsewhere - have we raised the money needed? What's the prognosis?

It seems we have, thanks to Chris’s efforts. So we’ll probably be able to keep things ticking over for at least the next year or so.

Or rather, thanks to the generosity of those who have offered to help.

Thanks to Howard for facilitating the transfer of the domain name. I'm pleased to say we now have formed a small committee comprising of me, Gary Barnett, Debra Arif, Jerry Dunlop and Steve Blomer, to oversee the continuation of JTR Forums. (The members were selected by contacting everyone who had offered to be involved in the practical running of the site.)

As already mentioned, thanks to the generosity of members, we do have enough offers of financial help to renew the current hosting and continue as we are beyond the current renewal date in November.

We'll also consider what are the best options for continuing the site in the longer term, and I'm sure any suggestions and thoughts that anyone has to offer will be very gratefully received!

Congratulations and thanks to all involved in keeping the site going. And to Howard of course for all that he’s done over the years. He’s a hard act to follow. Now you have to decide on a fitting title to put under his name. Founder maybe?
                          Regards

It’s at times like this that we most miss Robert - he’d have thought of the perfect honorary title for How.

Been a really shitty week for me ( except for Banksy getting involved with Carrie Brown discussion here on these boards.....

Thought I had a bad stretch back in early September....caught, of all things, a yeast infection ( I knew that watching the Lifetime Channel would eventually affect me...) on my chest and having a scary 5 days with a infection behind my tongue the week before. Both are gone. The thing with the tongue scared the shit out of me. I used to be able to lick my eyebrows....now, after having the infection in the throat, my range is considerably shorter.

I had, and this ain't a joke, a bad dream on Sunday night. I got up, turned around and walked right into the wall. I fell and have what I believe is a fractured 9th rib. I have to go get an Xray....was too messed up to do anything else but moan and kvetch all week. On Sunday, a bird flew straight into our balcony's glass door.... it coldcocked the little guy. Nina said. "Uh-oh...something bad is gonna happen."
I turned my head and rolled my eyes and sort of chuckled. She said, "You'll see...when am I ever wrong about these things ?"
A few hours later, thanks to that frigging bird, I wind up with enough pain to have kept me home from work for a week.

Chris taking the reins makes things a lot better and I agree with Gary 100 percent. Whose hands are safer than CGP's ?

Tune in next week when my continuing series of weird accidents and bizarre ailments continues. Will I be diagnosed as pregnant ?
